This is
yogurtrifle's chicken coconut curry soup. I made it last night and it is amazing. Amazing.
First is the recipe as she gave it to me, followed by the substitutions and procedure changes I made. It's one-pot for her version, but you also need a skillet for mine.
( Original recipe )
( My variation )
Anyway, it's great, and I have no idea what to serve it with, if anything. Yay!

Bury it at a crossroads with a stake through its heart.

If you had to live in the world of a science fiction disaster novel, who would be the author? Why?
I choose Iain M. Banks. Things would suck hard for a while, but then the Minds would roll in and the Culture is pretty much simultaneously omnipotent and 24-hour party people. It's like getting plucked out of a blizzard by a guy in a helicopter who then flies you to Oahu and tells you everything's free. Forever. And since I don't have deep-seated existential and philosophical issues with the thought of living in utopia, I'd even get to end up happy!
Extra credit: My "please let me die when the bomb goes off rather than live in the bleak and hopeless physical and existential horror that will follow" author is Peter Watts.

Hello...anyone there?
*taps again*
It has certainly been quiet in here today...I was so bored at home, I went to work today instead of taking the last day of my holiday...I'm going to save the day until Jan 18 as I don't get MLK as a holiday and L and MP will be home...
BTW, speaking of L, AKA
lnalvgd...she did not leave for Charlotte today to catch the bus to NYC to see
harrysmom...nope...she is sick and still in bed and has been there sleeping all day today after hugging the toilet for most of the night...*pets her from a distance*...seems she has that horrible stomach virus that has been making the rounds...DOES. NOT. WANT...TYVM!!! So...I peek in her room once in a while, asks if she needs anything, and leaves immediately...
I'm sorry that her holiday has been cancelled...I know she was so looking forward to it...but, she isn't in the same place that she was when she made the plans...no huge need to "get out of town" as there was a month ago...thanks to friends and family who have been so supportive, as well as a certain school mate that has come into her life...
Anyway...I hope someone shows up soon...

Read this book.* It's what Rendezvous With Rama or Excession would have been if, instead of being an engineer or a socialist, the author was a biologist.

yogurtrifle, I am looking at you.
I am now starting A People's History of the World. I do not anticipate finishing that tonight.
PS. Merry Christmas.
